Gamelan Kyai Jati Mulyo is one of the best gamelan in the world. It is in Museum Fine Art today. So interesting gamelan, because it is made in 1840 in Java, Indonesia. This instruments came from Blora. Blora is in north side of Solo city. The gamelan has a high quality carving. It's Chinese motive. I saw this gamelan when I was in US last year. The group was playing this gamelan is called Boston Village Gamelan. Mas Barry Drummond is the director of this group. It was so fun and lovely we played the old gamelan set. Hopefully I may see this gamelan again one day.

I think it's great that old gamelans are well preserved - it's a shame though that it's difficult for Indonesian people to see it for themselves since it's in the U.S. This is also true of the Raffles Gamelan which is in the U.K.
